Farshad Sanati

Farshad Sanati is a santur player, composer, music educator and researcher whose work connects Iranian and Kurdish musical traditions with intercultural performance and collaboration.

He founded Road Ensemble in 2015 and has performed in Finland, Sweden and other European settings through ensemble, solo and collaborative projects. He has also presented workshops and lectures about Persian music, the santur and microtonal music in universities, schools, libraries and cultural institutions in Finland.

Farshad is a doctoral researcher in Music Education at the University of Jyväskylä and holds a master’s degree in Music, Mind and Technology from the same university. He has taught santur in Finland since 2016. As a member of Hawraman Music Group, he performs the santur.
